REMINDER:  Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a driver's license.  Certificates will be given on Thursdays.

The Junior Class is selling pottery Christmas ornaments in the shape of horse heads and horseshoes.  The horse heads are $6, and the horseshoes are $5.  See Mrs. Cooper to purchase them.  Proceeds go toward prom.

 

Football Boosters are selling cookbooks for $10 each.  They are available in the high school office and in Mrs. Rose Williams' room at the Elementary.

 

Jr. High Cheerleaders are selling can "cozies" for $3 each.  Contact Amanda Dickinson if you want to purchase any:

The "Books Are Fun" display will be in the Library through Tuesday, December 8th.

All library books are due Monday, December 7.

The cheerleaders are selling Back-to-Back State Bound t-shirts through December 7th.  Order forms are in the office.

The Mantachie Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 5, at 2:00 p.m.

The Junior Class is sponsoring a Christmas Shop in the former Myron Dillon's Pharmacy building on Saturday, December 5, from 8-5 and on Sunday, December 6, from noon-5.  They will sell crafts, chili, hotdogs, soft drinks, baked goods, gift items, and pictures with Santa!  All proceeds go to the Prom.

The school beauty pageant will be December 5 at 5:00 p.m., in the gym.  Forms are available in the office.

 

There will be a Blue Out night for the basketball game on Friday, December 4.

 

Due to the sudden death of Fish Fry Team Member Harry Walker, the York Family Benefit Fish Fry that was scheduled for November 20 has been POSTPONED until December 3.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but certainly sympathize with the situation.  The fish fry will be from 3-6 at Mantachie City Park.  Plates are $8 each and include two catfish filets, slaw, hushpuppies, fries, and tea.  See Mrs. McDuffa or Mrs. Plunk for tickets.  This is sponsored by the West Itawamba Civitans and MHS Junior Civitans.

 

The MHS Choir Concert will be Thursday, December 3, at 6:30 at Mantachie First Baptist Church.

 

Jr. FFA Land Judging practice will be Thursday, Dec. 3, after school until 5 p.m.  Jr. FFA students going to Jackson this Saturday should also attend this.
