December 2011 You may check grades at www.engrade.com. Check with your child or your child's teacher for access codes. REMINDER: Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a permit. Certificates will be given on Thursdays. (The law has changed regarding licenses and renewals--no Certificate is required for licenses--only permits.) The school board policy for absentees as they apply to exemptions has been changed. Absences used to determine exemption must be excused. If a student has any unexcused absences in any class, he/she cannot be exempt from that class. Also, he/she has only two days after the absence to change an unexcused absence to an excused one. Parental notes can cover only a total of five (5) days of absences each semester. The Dec. 12 Fall Sports Banquet has been canceled. Please help the Junior Civitan Club in collecting socks and washcloths for residents at Countrywood Plantation. They are also collecting items to send to Jimmy Hall (father of Jessica and Megan Hall), who is stationed near Kuwait: Crystal Light, Nuts, Beef Jerky, Magazines, Hand Sanitizer, Cookies, Pringles/Other Snacks. Please bring items by Dec. 12. THANK YOU! Just in time for Christmas gifts, the MHS Junior Civitan Club is continuing their Spring "Lucky to be a Mustang" T-Shirt Sale this fall to include long sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies.
