REMINDER: Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a driver's license. Certificates will be given on Thursdays.

The school board policy for absentees as they apply to exemptions has been changed. Absences used to determine exemption must be excused. If a student has any unexcused absentees in a class, he/she cannot be exempt from that class. Also, he/she has only two days after the absence to change an unexcused absence to an excused one.

The next ACT (without a late fee) will be April 10. The deadline is March 5. For more information, go to www.actstudent.org or see Mr. Credille. The MHS school code is 251-780.

Football Boosters are selling cookbooks for $10 each. They are available in the high school office and in Mrs. Angie Kirksey's room and Mrs. Rose Williams' room at the Elementary.

Jr. High Cheerleaders are selling can "cozies" as shown below for $3 each. Contact Amanda Dickinson if you want to purchase any.

The Anchor Club is sponsoring Pop-Tops for Anchor Club. There will be a bucket set up in the school store. You may also give pop-tops to Beth Lindsey or Macy Riley.

There will be a Blood Drive Wednesday Feb. 3. See Tyler Camp to sign up.

There will be a financial aid workshop for parents of seniors Monday night, February 1, at 6:00 p.m., in the MHS Library.

School was dismissed at 12:00 Friday, January 29, due to inclement weather. This day will not have to be made up.

There will be a junior class meeting about prom on Thursday, January 28, at 6:00 p.m., at Kim's Diner in Mantachie.

There will be an Anchor Club meeting Monday, January 25, at 7:00 p.m., at the Briarwood Community Center. Officers need to be there at 6:30.

Anyone interested in signing up for fast pitch softball needs to see Coach Loague by Friday, January 22.

There will be a SADD Club meeting in Mrs. McDuffa's room at break on Thursday, January 21.

	The cost is $75 for instruction, equipment, and pool usage.
	Venture Crew membership is $11 per person for 2010.
	Registration and Classroom Sessions: 7 PM Thursday, Jan. 21, and 10 AM Saturday, Jan. 23, at the BSA offices at 505 Air Park Drive, Tupelo--bring a parent or guardian.
	Pool Sessions: Saturday, January 30, 8 AM-NOON at Rob Leake Pool in Tupelo.

We WILL have school Monday, January 18. This is one of our make-up days for the three snow days we had to miss.

There will be a Mu Alpha Theta meeting Wednesday, January 13, in Mrs. Frank's room.

There will be a Pancake Breakfast Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 7am until 10am at Mantachie Town Hall. The cost is $6 per plate. All proceeds go to GADD. See any senior to purchase a ticket.

There will be an automated message at 6:00 a.m., if there is no school due to inclement weather.

Track teams will begin practice again Monday, January 11, after school.
