August 2009 REMINDER: Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a driver's license. Certificates will be given on Thursdays. Senior ads for the yearbook: $65 for 1/4 page, $95 for 1/2 page and $150 for a full page. See Will Knight, Tyler Camp, Anna-Clark Hall, or Ms. Nikki Buse for more information. The deadline is 11/20/09. Football Boosters are selling t-shirts in the office. Adult sizes are $15 or two for $25. Youth sizes are $12 or two for $20. Adult and Youth together are $22. Football Boosters are preparing a cookbook to sell. Please submit recipes with names to Coach Aldridge or Amanda Dickinson. The recipes will be in the book with names printed underneath. There will be a Prom Meeting for Juniors and Parents Monday, August 31, at 6:30 p.m., in Mrs. McDuffa's room. 7th- through 12th-grade Student Council members will meet in Dr. Jackson's room during second lunch for pizza on Friday, August 28, to plan Homecoming activities. There will be a Junior FFA Meeting for 7th and 8th grade Thursday, August 27, from 3:00-4:30 in the Ag Shop. Junior Civitan Club Sign-Ups August 20-31. See Mrs. Michelle Plunk or Mrs. Sherry Thompson. Dues $15.Career Club Sign-Ups August 19-26. Seniors only. See Mrs. Sandy Collier. Cross Country will officially start running Monday afternoon, August 17. All physicals and waivers need to be completed and turned in by Monday. Runners will meet at the track after school. Congratulations to the Softball Team for their win over Alcorn Central and their tie with Corinth on Saturday. Back-to-School Bash at 4:00 p.m. at the Mantachie City Park, Saturday, August 15. It is being sponsored by some area churches. Meet the Mustangs will be at 7:00 Thursday, August 13. Any students in grades 9-12 who are interested in running for Student Council need to go by Dr. Jackson's room sometime this week. You must have a B average to be on the Student Council. Any students in grades 7-8 who are interested in running for Student Council need to go by Mrs. Scribner's room sometime this week. You must have a B average to be on the Student Council. Mr. and Miss Itawamba Pageant will be Saturday, August 15, at 3:00 p.m., at the Fine Arts Auditorium, Itawamba Community College, Fulton. If interested, call the MSU-Itawamba Extension Service at 862-3201. There are categories for girls ages 0-21 and boys ages 0-4.
