CHOIR NEWS AND EVENTS: The Treble Song Honor Choir concert will be April 13, 2008, in Jackson, Mississippi. Mantachie High School will be represented by Nikki Moore, Jeanna Fleming, and Kayla Leathers. The Junior High District Choir Competition will be February 21, 2008, Tupelo. The High School District Choir Competition will be February 20, 2008, in Tupelo. Nikki Moore and Jeanna Fleming will participate in the Delta State Honor Choir Concert on February 11, 2008. Nikki Moore, Jeanna Fleming, Kayla Kirkpatrick, Ashley Tucker, Kayla Sanders, and Paige West will be going to Tupelo High School on January 24, 2008, to try out for the All State Honor Choir. The MHS Chorus Christmas Concert will be Tuesday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m., in the gym. Admission is $2.00, and children under three get in free. This year's concert is dedicated to the memory of Coach Michael McCarver. The chorus will be singing Friday, November 16, for Itawamba County Day at MHS. On November 1, ten members of the choir traveled to Olive Branch to try out for the 2008 Delta State Honors Choir. Members selected were Nikki Moore and Jeanna Fleming. They will perform with the Delta State Honors Choir later this semester. Congratulations, Nikki & Jeanna! On October 30, 2007, the MHS Choir participated in the District I Choral Fall Festival. They performed in a Mass Choir with several other schools at Itawamba Community College. |
