March 2010 You may check grades at www.engrade.com. Check with your child or your child's teacher for access codes. REMINDER: Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a permit. Certificates will be given on Thursdays. (The law has changed regarding licenses and renewals--no Certificate is required for licenses--only permits.) The school board policy for absentees as they apply to exemptions has been changed. Absences used to determine exemption must be excused. If a student has any unexcused absences in any class, he/she cannot be exempt from that class. Also, he/she has only two days after the absence to change an unexcused absence to an excused one. Parental notes can cover only five (5) days of absences each semester. Dr. Walker Dempsey Hospital Foundation will be awarding four scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. The deadline for applying is April 15. Scholarships are awarded based on GPA and need, whether financial or hardship. Pick up an application from Ms. Meloney Lindsey. March 20: REPORT CARDS will be issued to students. March 12-16: Spring Holidays March 9 – Education Services Foundation: Help filling out FAFSA for parents and seniors – 10-5 in library (for parents only)
