September 2008 (Note: We have a new street address--310 Mustang Drive.) Reminder: Anyone needing a Certificate of Attendance needs to sign up for one in the office by Wednesday of each week. Any junior interested in taking the PSAT on October 15 needs to see Mr. Credille. There is a $13.00 fee.
There will be a Parent Night THURSDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 2, at 6:00 p.m., in the Library. This is for parents of current 7th and 8th graders to have an opportunity to view the results of the Mississippi Curriculum Testing (MCT2). Scores and results will be interpreted and discussed.
Junior Civitan dues ($12.00) must be paid by October 1. See Mrs. Plunk or Mrs. Sherry. The club will meet in Mrs. Plunk's room on Wed., Oct. 1.
There will be a meeting with Dr. Derwood Tutor from the Northeast Mississippi Educational Consortium at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 29, in the Library. This meeting is for all parents and guardians of Mantachie Junior High and High School Students. Topics will include growth, demographics, and school/community involvement.
September 26: There will be a Homecoming Dance Friday night after the game from 7:00 p.m.-12:00 midnight. The junior class is sponsoring it. Admission is $3 for singles and $5 for couples. It is for Grades 7-12.
The Homecoming Parade will be at 1:45 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 26. Line-up will start at 12:40 in front of the Gym. Student Council representatives will be out front to assist. The entry fee is $10. Checks may be made payable to MHS Student Council. Pick up entry forms in the high school office.

Hunter Safety Class--Ag Shop Mon. night (Sept. 22) from 6-9 p.m., & Tues. night (Sept. 23) from 5-9 p.m.
Faculty & Staff: The Dental Representative will be here September 23 at 8:30 a.m.
Homecoming t-shirts are for sale for $12.00. Orders must be returned no later than September 22 at 2:00 p.m.

The ACT will be given October 25. The deadline to sign up without a late fee is September 19.
School Days Picture orders need to be returned by Thursday, September 18.
Senior Tux and Drapes pictures will be made Wednesday, September 17. There is a $10 sitting fee.
"Books are Fun" will be in the Library through Monday, Sept. 15th.
The Miss Fest Pageant will be held Saturday, September 13, in the gym. Entry forms are available in the office.
Houston McCoy, a member of Team Full Throttle (NASCAR Driver Development Program), is raising money through his racing for LeBonhuer Children's Hospital. Please help him by donating to LeBonhuer. Turn donations in to Houston by Friday, September 12. He is a sophomore in Mrs. Plunk's homeroom.
The Annual Staff is sponsoring a "Design the Cover" contest. Entries should be on 11" x 17" paper and be turned in by 8:00 a.m., on Friday, September 12. The cost is $5.00 to enter. See Mrs. Clouse or an Annual Staff member for further details.
There will be a blood drive Sept. 11. See Buddy Barnes or Justin Leveck to sign up.

Mrs. Plunk is starting a Junior Civitan Club. Anyone interested in joining needs to see her. There will be a meeting Thursday, Sept. 4, in Mrs. Plunk's room during high school break.
The Annual Staff will be having an old picture sale before school and during break every day next week (Sept. 2-5). Most pictures will be $0.25.
